Upon arrival I was assigned to bachelor officer’s quarters while awaiting my family joining me.

I was assigned to the 3rd MI Company but worked in the Special Intelligence element of the division G2. located in a vault in the basement of the headquarters building. Because we were basement dwellers, we adopted the name “Marching Mushrooms” for when we participated Volksmarches.
