Our Daughters
We were fortunate enough to have three wonderful daughters: Deborah (aka Debbie), Sandra (aka Sandy), and Teresa (aka Terry).
They each had their own personality, with more differences with similarities with their siblings.

Deborah Ann was born on March 24th, 1961 at Madigan Army Medical Center, (Fort Lewis) Washington while I was in Germany. Her maternal grandfather, Walt Mayo acted in my stead. When he was needed, hospital staff would call him Mr. Whipps. Of course, he corrected them but as things got more hectic, he readily responded to Mr. Whipps without protesting.
I didn’t see her until August when she and her mother joined me in Germany.
After graduating from North Thurston High School in Olympia, Washington, Debbie earned two associate degrees from Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Washington.
She has been a registered nurse for 41 years specializing in in pediatrics.

Sandra Loree was born at Frankfurt General Hospital in Frankfurt Am Mein, Germany.
A few days after she came home from the hospital, we decided to take a little road trip as long as I was on leave anyway. We headed down the Rhein River, stopping at St. Goarhausen, when Sandra was just ten days old. When we told other hotel guests her age, they looked with shocked expressions, not at her age, but that Marilee wasn’t still in the hospital.
Instead, she opted to join the Air Force. She decided to specialize in Public Affairs. She advanced in rank rapidly, retiring with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (E8).

Teresa Lynn was also born at Frankfurt General Hospital in Frankfurt Am Main, but not as smoothly.
As I was checking into temporary quarters, I got a call to go back to the hospital ASAP. Naturally, that scared the devil out of me. It turned out that our new baby had her umbellule cord wrapped around her neck, making birth somewhat risky. She and Marilee turned out to be fine.
